Five star review, originally posted here on March 1st, 2024.
This review will bear a striking similarity to my last review, Ayoade on Top, which was also by a British comedian. In that review I said that if you’re someone who is into Richard Ayoade’s humor, you’ll like the book.
Go figure, in this case, if you like James Acaster’s humor, you’ll like this book. If you’ve ever heard him tell a story and you thought, “Ha, that was funny!” then you will have that same reaction to this book. In fact, in this book, he tells a couple stories that I’ve already heard him tell on panel shows. And they’re even funnier in this book than they were on TV, and I did not mind hearing them twice.
Unlike Ayoade’s book, though, this one never gets old. Every story in here is freaking hilarious on its own, and I could have listened to 10 more volumes of this stuff. I wanted it to never end. Do yourself a favor and get the audiobook version, because, of course, there is no delivery like Acaster delivery.
