This was fine. It was interesting to get some backstory on Justice Sotomayor and to hear her own voice. I particularly appreciated her take on affirmative action and its role in her life. But the book was also, frankly, a little boring. Maybe even a bit repetitive. And I’m not sure what the better approach would be when a girl goes from the projects to the ivy league to the supreme court, but at times she just comes off as arrogant. Lots of sentences start with “I have a gift for…” or “I have a knack for… and that’s why I’m such a good lawyer. ” But props to her, cuz she’s definitely an impressive figure.
