We got lost coming home from a wedding this past weekend (damn you, lost satellite reception!) , which mostly sucked because we were tired and hungover and were stuck sitting in the car for forever navigating tiny back roads. BUT, it was all worth it, because our accidental detour had us driving right through Philly at dinnertime, which means I could try my very first-ever authentic Philly Cheesesteak! We picked this place based on the fact that it was relatively easy to get to from the highway. I was a little worried that our unscientific selection method would result in some crappy tourist trap or imitation shop, but we hit the jackpot. Definitely the best cheesesteak I’ve ever had. So, so, SO GOOD. And huge portions so I even had leftovers to bring home after stuffing myself silly. Informal outdoor seating was nice after having been stuck in the car, and the staff were super nice.
